ST. PIUS X DAYCARE CENTER
St. Pius X Daycare History:
In 1971 the Parish decided to establish a new ministry that would aid working parents by adding, Kindergarten and a Daycare Center. The first Director of the Daycare Center was Sr. Mary Mercy an Ursuline Sister. The Daycare was located in the west wing of the school building. In 1989, the Kindergarten Program was taken over by the Owensboro Catholic Consolidated School System.
When Sr. Mary Mercy retired in 1978, Ms. Juanita Fogle became Director and served in that capacity until June, 2003. Micki Brantley Howard became Director in May 2005 until August 2015.
St. Pius X Daycare Presently:
Brook Mattingly is the current Director of St. Pius X Daycare Center she was previously the Assistant Director since 2008. Jen Howard is the current Assistant Director. The Day Care Center provides services to infants-preschool age children. The Daycare Center added a summer program for school age children May of 2016. The Day Care Center has an outstanding reputation as a Christian based, quality Childcare Center that strives to meet the needs of parents and children.
Inquiries for Daycare services and tours to learn more about our in class curriculum can be made by contacting the Daycare at 270-684-7456. Days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 6:30 A.M. – 5:30 P.M.
Day Care Advisory Council: The Day Care Advisory Council was formed in 2003. Additional volunteers with an interest in this ministry are needed. Nine individuals will serve as the Advisory Council with each serving a three year term. Advisory Council members are appointed by the Pastor.
